It’s hard to believe but tomorrow celebrates 20 years as a boutique/ small business owner! I started out with a big dream in 200 square feet in the back of a vintage clothing store. I was in a new town- Grand Junction, CO where I didn’t know anyone. I was under capitalized, had a bad location, and no contacts, basically a recipe for failure!💁♀️ What happened instead- I worked a second job baking cookies everyday from 6-11am, then from 11-6 I would open my shop. My efforts paid off, and within 6 months I moved to a bigger location- yay!
17 years, 3 expansions, and 2 stores later, I sold my businesses to my friend & accountant Jessica Lopez. She has taken my vision and made Pollux Clothing Company @polluxclothing better than ever!
Selling my businesses was the hardest thing that I have ever done. I missed my friends & customers. I found my joy again when I opened Ivy Boutique in Harbor Springs, MI. Now, on the eve of 20 years in business, I’m expanding again.
